2025 Committee

  • Radhika Kumarasiri - President

Before beginning her JD degree, Radhika completed a Bachelor of Science in 2022 at the University of Melbourne. Majoring in Biotechnology, she discovered a passion for the science involved in the biotech industry and aspires to integrate her science background with her law degree. She hopes to one day contribute to the field of intellectual property.

Radhika has been a part of SATLA since 2023, where she began her journey as a First Year Events Representative and continued in 2024 as Sponsorship Director. With SATLA being a highlight of her JD degree, she is excited to return as President and contribute to SATLA’s mission of supporting law students with a passion for science and technology.

  • Victoria Streeton-Cook - Vice President

Victoria graduated from Melbourne University midway through 2023 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in physics. She then began work as a bioinformatician, focusing on cancer and genetic research. She wondered during her research how law and science intersected - for example, through patents and science policy. She also became curious about how science and technology could enhance legal practice. Consequently, she joined SATLA last year as a first-year rep. She is excited to be back again, this time as VP.

  • Ashqkein Kang - Sponsorships Director

Prior to commencing the JD program, Ashqkein completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Neuroscience. She also undertook an Honours year, researching potential biomarkers for Alzheimer’s Disease. Ashqkein currently works as a Research Administration Assistant for the Neurointervention Department, at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Throughout her life, she has always had an interest in the ways that law and science intersect - whether that encompasses policy reform, law in healthcare, or the evolving realm of IP law and artificial intelligence. As the Sponsorships Director, Ashqkein is super excited to connect with others also interested in these realms, and collaborate with firms to best achieve SATLA’s goals and aspirations for 2025!

  • David Trevorrow - Events Director

David began his JD in 2024 after completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Media and Communications, and Sociology, alongside a Diploma in Computing. During his undergraduate studies, he worked at the Victorian Student Representative Council, advocating for school-aged students across Victoria.

David is fascinated by the impact of technology on society and has explored his interest in cybersecurity, privacy and competition law through SATLA and an internship at the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner.

In 2025 David is excited to create opportunities for law students to explore the changing world of science and technology law and to engage with experts and each other.

  • Catherine Leung - Events Director

Prior to commencing the JD in 2023, Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Neuroscience from the University of Melbourne. During her Neuroscience degree, she developed a particular interest in policies related to the study of cognitive patterns in humans and the implications for artificial intelligence, as well as the use of biotechnologies in medicine. This interest sparked her passion for the intersection of cutting-edge science and the law.

In addition to her Neuroscience studies, Catherine focused on Psychology through electives and breadth subjects. She developed a specific interest in mental disorders and became deeply concerned about the barriers to accessing necessary healthcare, fuelling her passion for healthcare policy reform.

Catherine is thrilled to join SATLA as an Events Director this year. She is eager to organise events that connect like-minded students with professionals in the industry, striving to create positive experiences and valuable opportunities for her fellow STEM-Law peers!

  • Stephanie Tzanidis - Communications Director

Steph joined the JD program after completing a Bachelor of Science and Arts at Monash University, majoring in Psychology and Philosophy. Initially pursuing medicine, she discovered a passion for philosophy, which led her to law and its intersection with ethics and society.

With clerical experience at the Victorian Heart Hospital, Steph developed an interest in patient rights and the legal frameworks affecting healthcare. She is particularly drawn to intellectual property law and its impact on clinical trial accessibility and systemic reform.

As Communications Director in 2025, following her role as First-Year Communications Representative in 2024, Steph aims to foster connections among peers and expand SATLA’s engagement with law, science, and technology.

  • Ivy Wang - Communications Director

Ivy started her JD in 2024, following her degree in biomedical science from the University of Auckland. Her interest in law, science, and technology stems from the rapid growth of AI, genetic editing, and other emerging fields in science and medicine. She’s particularly fascinated by how the law will evolve to address these advancements.

After completing her biomedical degree, Ivy took part in a research program investigating new drug targets, exploring how neurotransmitters for mood regulation can impact diabetes. This deepened her curiosity about the legal and ethical challenges surrounding scientific innovation.

Beyond SATLA, Ivy is also part of Naarm Law Students, a project dedicated to making legal knowledge accessible to the wider community. She’s excited to bring creative new content that showcases the dynamic world of science and tech law in SATLA 2025.

  • Dean Roff - Treasurer

A little about me: I’m currently in my 3rd, penultimate year of the JD, having already completed a Bachelors of Commerce - majoring in Finance and Marketing - at the University of Melbourne as well.

I work at a personal injury firm too, which has been a fantastic chance to get some hands-on legal practice on the side.  However, ultimately, I’m hoping to build a career at the intersection of the technology and M&A spaces of law, as these are the kinds of deals that I’ve found most exciting by far.

Outside of law, I love gymming, heading to the beach, exploring new restaurants and bars (any recs would be greatly appreciated), and going to the occasional hardstyle or techno rave too.

  • Chris Tang - First Year Communications Representative

Chris began the JD in 2025 after completing his undergraduate degree at New York University, where he studied Economics and Philosophy and pursued a joint minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. His academic path reflects a curiosity for both the technical and conceptual foundations of modern systems, with a particular interest in how legal reasoning interacts with scientific and technological change.

Chris developed a keen interest in law and artificial intelligence through his philosophy of mind coursework, where questions around consciousness, personhood, and machine learning prompted deeper reflection on the ethical boundaries of AI use. This sparked a broader desire to examine how legal systems can respond to and shape technological advancement in a socially responsible way.

Having worked across legal, policy, and business settings in New York, Chris brings a multidisciplinary lens to his role. As a First-Year Communications Representative, he’s eager to help foster curiosity and conversation among peers, and to explore how law intersects not just with technology, but with the broader sciences across disciplines and industries.

  • Natalie Eu - First Year Events Representative

Natalie started her JD in 2025, after graduating a few months prior from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Neuroscience. While completing her undergraduate studies, she developed a keen interest in the law and its pervasive impacts on society through completing a myriad of electives. In her final year, she interned at the Department of Education. She was introduced to the world of policy and equitable reform, which solidified her decision to pursue law post-grad.

She hopes to combine her skills and passion in both spheres of study to investigate how legal frameworks support medical innovation and can engender more ethical and accessible healthcare for all. In joining SATLA, she’s excited to help grow a community of like-minded peers curious about the intersection of STEM and Law and contribute to providing a space that encourages growth through rewarding and engaging events.

  • Andrew Yang - First Year Events Representative

Prior to commencing the JD in 2025, Andrew graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Economics and Finance, and a Diploma in Computing which he had completed concurrently. During his undergraduate studies, he interned at a tech consultancy firm where he developed a keen interest in the intersection of law and technology, particularly in intellectual property and the evolving legal frameworks for governing technological advancements.

In joining the Events Committee at SATLA in 2025, Andrew is excited to further explore his interests and introduce engaging opportunities for students who are curious about the law’s expanding role in science and technology.
