In this Privacy Policy, 'us' 'we' or 'our' means the Science & Technology Law Association (SATLA) of Melbourne Law School.
We are committed to respecting your privacy. Our Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information.
By providing personal information to us, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and any other arrangements that apply between us. We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time by publishing changes to it on our website. Juris Doctor year level e.g. “JD2”;

We may collect these types of personal information either directly from you, or from third parties. We may collect this information when you:
join SATLA through our website;
submit an inquiry to us through our website;
register online for an event that we are hosting;
communicate with us through correspondence, email, or when you share information with us through any of our social media accounts;
In addition, when you apply for a position on the SATLA committee we may collect certain information from you including your name, contact details, working history and any other personal information contained in your resume or other documents you submit to us as part of the recruitment process.

We may collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes:
to enable you to access and use our website;
to operate, protect, improve and optimise what SATLA offers to the student cohort;
to send you our newsletter, other notifications relating to SATLA’s activities, event promotions, and any information requested by you;
to send you promotional messages and other information that may be of interest to you, including information sent to us by potential employers of JD students, our sponsor firms, any other businesses affiliated with us, and other organisations with which SATLA may co-host events;

to consider your application to join the SATLA committee.

other organisations that SATLA co-hosts events with;
individual members of the SATLA committee
Melbourne Law School;
our current and future sponsorship firms;
our sponsors or promoters of any competition that we conduct;

other persons, including government agencies, regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies, or as required, authorised or permitted by law.
